Properties of Jamun and its Ayurvedic Remedies


(Introduction)

The Jamun tree is quite large, like the mango tree, about 20 to 25 meters high, and its leaves are 2 to 6 inches long and 2 to 3 inches wide. The bark of the Jamun tree is whitish brown in color. Its leaves are similar to mango and moulsiri leaves. Jamun flowers are seen in the month of April, and the berries (fruits) ripen from July to August. The color of the unripe fruit is green, and the ripe fruit is purple, blue, black, and dark pink from the inside. The taste of berries in food is astringent, sweet, and sour. It contains a seed. There are two types of berries, small and large.

Large Jamun Tree: It is sweet, warm in nature, pale and stubbly, and destroys breathlessness, swelling, fatigue, diarrhea, phlegm, and ural.



                                         (Harmful effects)

Consumption of berries in excess can cause gas, fever, chest pain, phlegm, and diseases caused by it, diseases of vata disorders. Do not consume its juice with milk.

(Treatment of various diseases)

On Pitta:

Mix 10 grams of jaggery in 10 ml of Jamun juice and heat it on fire. You should drink its steam after heating.

Pregnant Woman's Diarrhea:

At such a time, berries should be fed, or 10-10 grams of flour of paddy and barley should be added to the decoction of Jamun bark.

Diseases of the mouth



Cold water should be taken out of the bark of any tree from Jamun, Acacia, Plum, and Moulsiri, and the teeth should be rinsed daily with it; it strengthens the teeth and also cures mouth diseases.

Jamun kernels should be taken with 1 gram of powdered water. This medicine should be taken after four hours. After about 3 days, its effect will start to appear.

Vomiting:

Burning the bark of the Jamun tree in the fire and feeding its ashes with honey stops sour vomiting.

Cholera:

The patient suffering from cholera should be given 5 grams of Jamun vinegar with quadruple water at an interval of 1-1 hour. This vinegar should also be used in the morning and evening for stomach pain.

Acne:

Jamun kernels should be rubbed and planted. This destroys acne.

Excessive sweating



Boil Jamun leaves in water and take a bath to stop excessive sweating.

To burn:

Grind the bark of Jamun in coconut oil and apply it on the burnt area 2-3 times.

Foot ulcers



Wearing tight, new shoes or walking too much can cause blisters and sores on the feet. In this case, rub the Jamun kernels in water and apply it 2-3 times. This eliminates the blisters on the feet.

Nocturnal emission:

Boil the bark of Jamun in water, filter it, and rinse it with water daily in the morning and evening. This makes the teeth strong.

Pyuria



Make a paste by burning the bark of the Jamun tree in the fire and grinding it finely by adding a little rock salt and alum to it. Pyorrhea disease is cured by brushing it daily.

Vitreous extrusion (auscultation):

Boil 20-20 grams of Jamun, Peepal, Bud, and Baheda in 500 grams of water. After defecating daily, clean the anus and wash the anus by filtering the decoction made by cleaning it. This cures auscultation.

Mouth ulcers:

Gargling with a decoction of Jamun bark is beneficial in case of wounds, blisters, etc. in the mouth.

Grind 50 grams of Jamun leaves with water and mix it in 300 ml of water. Then filter its water and rinse it. This destroys blisters.

Loose motion:

Grind the kernel of Jamun and make a powder, then mix this powder with buttermilk and use it to stop the continuous coming of the straw.

Fresh juice of jamun with goat's milk provides relief in diarrhea.

Grind the kernel of jamun (kernels) and mango kernels and make a powder, then consuming it with roasted myrobalan gives great benefit in diarrhea.

Drinking 40 grams to 80 ml of Jamun vinegar provides relief in diarrhea.

Diarrhea is cured by drinking jamun syrup. Drinking black salt and a little sugar mixed with Jamun juice is beneficial.

Grind 4 leaves of Jamun and mix rock salt in it and lick it; it is beneficial.

Grind 3 leaves of Jamun with rock salt and make small tablets. Take it in the form of 1-1 tablet daily in the morning; it cures loose motion.

Diarrhea and dysentery are cured by drinking a decoction of Jamun tree bark with honey.

Pregnant vomiting:

Make a decoction by mixing equal amounts of berries and mango bark. Drinking a little honey in it stops vomiting caused by bile.

Ear pain



Adding jamun oil is beneficial in case of ear pain.

Ear Bleeding:

Mix honey in the juice of soft green leaves of berries and mango and put it in the ear drop by drop; it stops pus from flowing from the ear.
